Urban Art Exhibit

All art work form the Urban Art Competition will be on display in an exhibit at the First Parish in Malden, MA. This event will take place on October 5, 2008 at 2 PM. All the pieces are hung, and a meditation session will be held for guests before inviting them in view the art pieces. Guests will be asked to bring a recyclable item for admission to the exhibit. All admission pieces will be used to create an environmental art piece later. Our event is also on Facebook so feel free to invite anyone to attend.

Healthy Eating

Ann Cooper is a “renegade lunch lady” whose goal is to revolutionize the way kids are eating in our schools by promoting healthy eating and serving fresh, regional, organic sources for meals. Her website, Lunch Lessons, is her mission to change the way our kids eat.

Mural Workshop Series

Workshops will begin on Wednesday, September 17 and run for about four weeks. The workshops will most likely take place at the First Parish in Malden, but may take place at Malden High School as an alternative. More information will be posted once details are worked out. We have about 10 artists so far for the mural project as well as those from the Urban Art Competition who are interested as well.

Harvest Moon Festival

Youth A.C.T. will be in Malden, MA for the Harvest Moon Festival where we will have a table with information and activities focusing on healthy eating. We will also have a “Youth A.C.T.” banner made out of recyclable materials plus a timeline of our youth farm and the results of it.
